How does the Song Library work?

Written by Debra

What is 'Songs' and how can I access it?

Our Song Library, known as Songs, is the place to find just the song you're looking for! šŸŽ§ Whether you've got a song stuck in your head, want to play something special for a special occasion, or are simply in the mood for something fun, Songs is packed with music from all kinds of genres, all adjusted to your playing level.

To access Songs, open your course overview and tap the Songs icon from the left-hand menu.

When does Songs become available?

Songs becomes available after you've completed the first two lessons in Essentials I:

Adult profiles

  • Reminder

  • Rhythm I

Kids' profiles (ages 4–10)

  • The Notes F & G

  • Circle of Life

šŸŽ‰ Once you've completed these lessons, you're ready to start exploring!

šŸ’” You'll need a subscription to be able to unlock 'Songs'.

How is Songs organized?

Songs is organized into sections that match your learning journey, making it easy to find songs that suit your current level.

As you progress through your courses, you'll unlock more songs and more sections of the library, so there's always something new waiting for you.

šŸ‘Øā€šŸ‘©ā€šŸ‘§ Kids' profiles (ages 4–10): You may notice some songs that aren't available just yet. This is because kids can only play songs that match the courses they've already unlocked. As they progress through the course, more songs will become available.

Are there any features I should know about?

Songs includes the same helpful features you'll find in the moving stages throughout our courses.

ā¤ļø Tap the heart icon on any song to add it to your Favorites for quick access later.

Looking for Sheet Music?

Some learners may also see a Sheet Music tab at the top of Songs.

If you have this version, you'll find both Guided Play (our interactive song library) and Sheet Music together in one place.

Other learners may still see Play as a separate button in the left-hand menu.

You can learn more about Sheet Music in our Understanding Play article.

How do I search for a song?

Tap the šŸ” search icon in the top-right corner and type the name of any song or artist.

If we have it, we'll show it to you right away.

If we don't, you'll see a button pop up "Can't find a song? Request a song". Tap it to tell us what you'd love to play next!

Will my song requests be added?

We love hearing which songs you'd like to play in Simply Piano! Your requests help us understand what learners want to see in the Song Library šŸŽµ

We can’t promise that every requested song will make it into the app, but we do take your suggestions into account when deciding what to add next.

If we choose a song, we first need permission to use it before our team can create a Simply Piano version. This can take several months, and sometimes we aren’t able to get permission for a particular song.

šŸ’” We can’t track or share updates for individual song requests, but your suggestions really do help us shape what comes next in the Song Library.
