Wow! You must be so excited to begin your piano learning journey. 🌟 Once you start your lessons in Simply Piano, you'll be playing amazing music in no time at all! 🎢

How does the app teach me how to play?

Simply Piano works by listening to the notes you play and gives you live feedback on whether you're playing the right note. If the app notices any mistakes, it guides you to the correct notes by color-coding them and showing a visual keyboard at the bottom of the screen. It's like having a supportive virtual music teacher right at your fingertips!

So, what do the colors mean?

  • Blue - means you played the note correctly with no hint given πŸŽ‰

  • Yellow - means you played the note correctly after the app gave you a hint on the visual keyboard at the bottom of the screen

  • Red (in moving stages only) - means you played the wrong note

Tip: Use the hints on the visual keyboard at the bottom of the screen! The grey keys show you what the app is hearing you play, but if you've played a note incorrectly the correct key will be highlighted in yellow.

What else do I need to know?

While you're learning using our courses and the song library, pressing pause (top left) will display 4 options in the top left corner of the screen.

The Play button unpauses the app and so you can return to where you left off

The Rewind button starts the stage over again if you'd like to try something over

The Menu button will take you back to the mini-journey

The Listen button plays whichever notes you can currently see on the screen

Tip: If you're playing in one of our 'moving stages', you'll also see tempo options appear in the top right corner of the screen. You can use these to slow down the moving stage if you're finding it a little too fast.
