What is Piano Maestro?

Written by Debra

Piano Maestro is a piano learning app designed specifically for piano teachers and their students.

Created by music educators, Piano Maestro helps students build strong foundational skills, including:

  • 🎼 Sight-reading

  • 🥁 Rhythm

  • 🎹 Technique

  • ✋ Playing with both hands

  • 🎵 Musical fluency and confidence

The app provides a structured piano journey that begins with the fundamentals and progresses step by step.

💡 Piano Maestro is available only on iPad (requires iPadOS 10 or higher).

Designed for Teachers

Piano Maestro allows teachers to:

  • Manage unlimited student profiles

  • Assign songs and home challenges

  • Track student progress

  • Access method books and technique exercises

  • Support students both in lessons and at home (depending on the plan)

With the My Studio + Home plan, students connected to a teacher receive full access on their own accounts for home practice at no additional cost.

While the interface is child-friendly, learners of all ages use and enjoy the app.

Built for Studio Use

Piano Maestro is ideal for:

  • Private piano teachers

  • Music studios

  • Schools using iPads in lessons

Teacher Community & Resources

We support our teacher community beyond the app.

How is Piano Maestro different from Simply Piano?

Piano Maestro is not the same app as Simply Piano.

  • Piano Maestro is built for teachers and student management.

  • Simply Piano is designed for independent, self-guided learners.

A Simply Piano subscription does not include access to Piano Maestro. Click here for a full comparison.

Get Started with Piano Maestro

You can download Piano Maestro directly from the App Store on your iPad.

Important

Piano Maestro is a separate app from Simply Piano, with its own subscription options.

  • However, if you already have a Simply Piano subscription, this does also include access to Piano Maestro Premium Home (parent/student access).

  • It does not include access to teacher Studio plans (My Studio or My Studio + Home).

  • A Piano Maestro-only subscription does not include access to Simply Piano.

If you use both apps, your learner profiles will appear in both. Please note that deleting a profile in one app will remove it from the other.

If you’re unsure which app is right for you, feel free to contact us - we’re happy to help 🎵
