Is the app struggling to hear you play? Get ready for perfect note recognition πŸŽ‰

⚠️ Make sure you've already checked our Step 1 guide on understanding which MIDI input your keyboard has.

All you need is to connect a cable and adapter to your keyboard and phone/tablet, and you're all set 🌟

Equipment

Before getting started, make sure to get a MIDI to USB Converter Cable and a Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter. Here's where you can find them:

  1. MIDI to USB Converter Cable (This is just an example, other brands work too)

*We recommend using an Apple adapter for the best results. If you'd like to play silently with wired headphones though, you'll need an adapter which also includes an audio jack - here is an example.

Steps

  1. Connect your keyboard to the MIDI to USB Converter Cable (Please make sure you connect the MIDI OUT cable to the MIDI IN port on the keyboard, and the MIDI IN Cable to the MIDI OUT port).

  2. Connect the MIDI to USB Converter Cable (TYPE A MALE USB side) to the Lightning to USB Camera Adapter.

  3. Last, connect the Lightning to USB Camera Adapter to your iOS Device. Make sure to do this before starting a level or a song.

That's it! πŸŽ‰ Simply Piano will immediately recognize a MIDI connection and you will see a notification showing that the MIDI connection is good to go. Time to break out the tunes! πŸͺ©
