Enable microphone access for Simply Sing

Troubleshooting steps for when the app can't hear you sing

If the app can't hear you sing at all, don't worry. Let's turn on all the correct settings so you can begin getting feedback from Simply Sing πŸ’ͺ


🍏 iOS:

πŸ‘‰ Enable Microphone and Speech Recognition Permissions

  1. Open Settings

  2. Tap Privacy & Security

  3. Tap Microphone > Toggle Simply Sing microphone access to ON

  4. Go back

  5. Tap Speech Recognition > Toggle Simply Sing speech recognition to ON

* Don't see these settings at all? This could be related to parental controls. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > make sure Simply Sing has access allowed for Microphone and Speech Recognition.

πŸ‘‰ Turn Sound Recognition Off

  1. Open your device's Settings app

  2. Tap Accessibility

  3. Turn the Sound Recognition toggle OFF

πŸ‘‰ Enable System-Level Microphone Permission

  1. Open Settings

  2. Tap Security & Privacy

  3. Tap Additional Privacy Controls

  4. Toggle on microphone access

πŸ‘‰ Grant App-Specific Microphone Permission

  1. Open Settings

  2. Tap Apps

  3. Tap Simply Sing

  4. Tap Permissions

  5. Tap Microphone and make sure permission is set to Allowed
